Loving Arms Child Care Center

Loving Arms CCC is a fully licensed and accredited early childhood program serving children ages 6 weeks to pre-kindergarten. As an accredited center, we strive to offer the highest quality of care and early learning experiences for children. Our classrooms operate with low teacher-to-child ratios (Infants 1:3; Toddlers 1:5; Preschool 3’s 1:6; and pre-K 4-5’s 1:8).

As a ministry of Vinje Lutheran Church, our faith-based curriculum is incorporated into daily living and learning. Using Creative Curriculum as our foundational structure, teachers provide developmentally appropriate experiences to support a monthly study theme. For example, during a study on dinosaurs, preschool children baked a ‘choco-saurus’ cake which they ate for afternoon snack, learning about science and math through their baking activity.

We have two outdoor play spaces – a large muscle playground for riding tricycles, climbing, sand play and sliding; and a NEW NATURE CLASSROOM to encourage exploration and wonder. Features of our nature classroom include a garden bed, water play area, outdoor musical instruments, climbing stumps, balance beam, and “loose parts” for supporting imaginative play.

Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA
The Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA is a very special place where adults and children gather on a daily basis to play and learn, see and do, observe and experience, explore and journey. The Childcare Center, in the Health and Human Services Building, is a licensed childcare center with space for 8 infants, 14 toddlers, and 42 preschoolers/school- age. Our teachers are qualified, certified, and attend on-going training. Teachers design curriculum around weekly themes, letters, numbers, and character values. Each room has learning centers like Reading, Art, Family Living, Small Manipulatives, and more, and daily plans provide time for outdoor activities in a child-friendly playground. The Childcare Center accepts Childcare Assistance Funding and may be able to provide scholarships and sliding fees with funds from the United Way and the YMCA Partners with Youth Program. Be assured that we always treat children in our care with kindness and respect. Our staff are all trained to use Positive Behavior Guidance methods to gently guide disruptive children, and to reinforce and praise children making good behavior choices. Stop on out to our facility or give us a call and let the Y care for your child as much as you do.
